Where is my web site hosted?

Your website is physically stored on our UK-based specialist datacentre, using Intel Quad Xeon servers.

The servers are backed up several times a day and the centre has a massive amount of security and fire prevention measures to keep your data safe. The servers are all protected with hardware firewalls to prevent any hacking attacks. In addition, we hold an exact copy of your site on our local servers.

How will the search engines find my new site?

Your new site will be optimized to enable the highest possible position when a user enters certain 'keywords' in to a search engine. This is a skilled process and utilises our vast experience in web marketing and submission techniques.

The site will then be submitted to the main search engines including, Google, Lycos, Yahoo, AltaVista etc.

Please note that you do not appear in the listing immediately, it can take up to three months to get a good position.

Some search engines such as Yahoo! and Ask Jeeves are now requiring payment to get an early good position. It is not to say you will not get in the listing without payment, just not so high - so early. If you do wish to consider paying to increase your search engine exposure, let us know and we will get some costings to you. Back to Top

Can I submit the site myself?

Yes, of course. Every search engine has its own procedures, but most of them have a "Submit a site" button or something like it either on their front page or within the category to which you want to submit it.

Please be careful not to submit too often or the search engines management system will think you are 'spamming' it and delete you altogether! Please also be very wary of 'free' online tools which submit your site automatically to lots of engines. They really want to take your money to upgrade to a different service.

The reason that we submit to a relatively small amount of search engines is the fact that these are the ones people use, plus the small search engines can bombard you with spam once they have your email address. They also can sell these email lists to other spammers and so it goes on.

What is Webmail?

Webmail allows you to access your email account from any computer - anywhere in the world - so it's ideal for when you're away from home on business or on holiday. There's no need for an email client like Outlook Express or Eudora - all you need is access to the internet, like from an Internet Cafe.

To use webmail, you simply type your website name in with "webmail" at the end www.xxxxxx.co.uk/webmail. You then enter a username and password, you can then read, reply to your mail.

There is a nominal charge for this service.
